Intensive Testing
To start off our intensive tests we have PCMark Vantage, which is an overall system benchmark.
Geekbench provides a comprehensive set of benchmarks engineered to quickly and accurately measure processor and memory performance. Designed to make benchmarks easy to run and easy to understand, Geekbench takes the guesswork out of producing robust and reliable benchmark results.
AIDA 64 has a nice Cache & Memory benchmark built right in to it. It gives you the read, write and copy speeds of your memory.
Everyone knows about SiSoftware Sandra. We will be running the Processor Arithmetic and Processor Multimedia benchmarks.
To test the speed of the installed hard drive we used Sandra’s Physical Disks benchmark.
I have two questions about this machine.
Can I separate the battery out and plug power in then still turn on the system?
I am definitely going to use desktop replacement, but sometimes I need to work outside for several hours, so I want to save battery life as long as possible.
Second, HDD is 5400 rpm, and does it really really feel like slow old past time relics?
I do not usually care about HDD speed, but I heard lots of people complaint about 5400 rpm.
Is it critical? or endurable?
Anyway, it IS AWESOME review!
