Lenovo IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition Gaming Desktop Review

Final Thoughts
Lenovo is a huge brand for home and business users and their entry into PC gaming is a welcomed one. Lenovo makes really good products for those home and business users and wants to do the same for today’s gamers. They have really put together a great machine in the IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition and it is ready to play whatever you want to throw at it. It has some of the latest hardware available like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, Intel Core i7-6700K, and an M.2 PCIe solid state drive.

When it comes to performance the IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition is a real beast. I was able to play all of my favorite games at respectable frame rates and some of the highest settings possible. If you plan on getting the Y27g RE Curved Gaming Monitor your games will look just beautiful and the system will have no problem matching that display’s 144hz refresh rate. We also hooked up the system to our in-house 4K display and we were able to play our games at that resolution. Having the PCIe solid state drive means your load times will be very fast, although it is only 256GB.

Since this is the Razer Edition of the IdeaCentre Y900 Lenovo has included with the system the Razer Mamba Tournament Edition mouse and Razer Blackwidow Chroma gaming keyboard. These gaming peripherals are great and I am really in love with the mechanical keys on the Blackwidow Chroma. The Mamba Tournament Edition is a great mouse for FPS and MOBA gamers. The system comes loaded with Razer’s Synapse software that not only lets you program both of these devices, but also control the lighting on them as well as on the tower and the Y27g RE Curved Gaming Monitor.

So many system builders make it difficult for the average user to upgrade the hardware inside of their machine, but Lenovo makes it very easy. You can easily swap our your graphics card, CPU, memory, power supply, and hard drives. This way if you want to upgrade you can just buy the part yourself, not have to ship the system somewhere and not have your PC for an extended period of time.

At the end of the day Lenovo has put together a great system for gaming and has matched it with great gaming peripherals as well. It is powerful enough to play all of the latest games and can easily be upgraded in the future. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lenovo IdeaCentre Y900 Razer Edition Gaming Desktop a 9 out of 10 score.
