Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset Review

When it comes to serious gamers a great headset is just as important as their keyboard and mouse. They want something that is going to be functional, provide great sounds, and of course be very comfortable. Even if you are a casual gamer you want a good sounding headset that is comfortable for hours of use. Kingston hopes to accomplish just that with their HyperX Cloud Revolver gaming headset which is not only made for PC gaming, but for consoles and mobile as well. Kingston tells us that this headset has a larger sound stage that’s ideal for FPS and open environment gameplay and for a concert hall-like experience when listening to music. Kingston’s own HyperX Cloud II gaming headset happens to be my favorite headset and one I use on a daily basis so the Revolver has a lot to live up to. Let’s take a look and see what the HyperX Cloud Revolver is all about.

Special thanks to Kingston for providing us with the HyperX Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset to review.

Opening up the retail box there is a larger box inside with the HyperX logo on it. Opening that up we see the headset nicely packaged inside. On the inside of the box lid there is a little message from the HyperX General Manager. This is actually some of the better packaging that I’ve seen for a gaming headset, it really makes you feel like you are buying a quality product.

Once we have everything out of the box we have the HyperX Revolver Headset, detachable microphone, and a PC adapter cable which has your in-line controls on it. The in-line control box has a 3.5mm jack for you to plug the headsets main audio cable into, which is hard-wired into the headset. The control box then splits that connection into a audio and microphone cables so you can use this headset with your PC. The control box itself has volume control and a mute button for the microphone.
