Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset Review

Usage & Final Thoughts
When I first put on the HyperX Cloud Revolver the first thing that I thought was that they were really loose on my head. This all has to do with the design and the flexible headband. I have been using the headset for about 3 weeks now so that initial loose feeling is gone and the headset is actually quite comfortable. The headband does not press on the top of your head that hard and the earcups fit over your ears quite well. The HyperX memory foam is great and is one of my favorite things about this headset. I used this headset for multiple 3+ hour long gaming sessions and neither my ears or top of my head were irritated.

When it comes to the audio quality I was very impressed. Everything sounded very clear and precise, especially when playing games like Battlefield 1, Payday 2, and Counter-Strike: GO. One thing that I did notice when using the HyperX Cloud Revolver was that bass was a little more toned down compared to other headsets. This is something you are either going to like or dislike depending on what type of music you listen to. I myself, actually preferred the toned-down bass.

I used the microphone on the headset to communicate with teammates in games and to make a few Skype calls. Everyone said I sounded very clear, but they could tell I was on a headset microphone compared to the Blue Yeti I typically use. Also there were a few times that they said they could hear the music in my headphones over the microphone.

At the end of the day I really enjoy using the HyperX Cloud Revolver headset. It is very comfortable and the sound is great. The fact that I can take the microphone off makes me more inclined to use it with my mobile device and tablet as well. This headset is the new headset I use at the office (Cloud II at home) and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
