Kingston Action Camera microSD Card Review

Usage & Testing
I used the Kingston Action Camera microSD Card with my new GoPro Hero 5 and I did not run into any issues. I had the GoPro under water, out in the sun, and in some pretty intense sequences where the GoPro went flying a few times. All of the footage from the GoPro came out just fine, there was no missed frames or glitches.

Using the adapter I went ahead and plugged the SD card into the SD card slot in my laptop. It just popped right up and I was able to access my files. To see if Kingston’s claims of 95 MB/s read and 45 MB/s write are true I went ahead and ran a few tests. The first is CrystalDiskMark.

As you can see the card falls just behind the 90 MB/s read speed it is rated for, but the write speeds are much higher than the advertised speeds of 45 MB/s. Next up we have Blackmagic Design Disk Speed Test.

Here you can see we have great results as well. Our final test is transferring four 4K movie files to and from the card.

Again the drive performs right up to its specifications.
