Jelfin Gel-covered Mouse Review

First looks
The Jelfin mouse has a long, 5′ cable and a thin gel cover on the top of the mouse. The buttons occupy approximately 1/4 of the front of the mouse. The bottom shows a standard optical lens for its 1000 dpi tracking.

Use
I used the Jelfin mouse for a few days to get a good feel of it. It was awkward at first, as I’m accustomed to the feel of my Orbita mouse. The gel is a welcome cushion. The click is very soft and the wheel’s click feels like click. The mouse is very responsive—I had to turn down the sensitivity in order to get accustomed to it.

It took a few hours, but my hand eventually found a comfortable position on the mouse and I was able to grab it without having to look at it in order to position my hand. The a sense of the height of it is something I’m still acquiring. I fairly constantly knock it over when returning from the keyboard.

The mouse is likely a step up for those looking for something more comfortable and unique than the standard mouse which comes with most computers these days. Even those using a Microsoft Intellimouse would probably find the Jelfin more comfortable.

I don’t think I’d want to use the Jelfin for gaming, though—simply not enough buttons. I’d be interested to see what Jelfin would produce if tasked with producing a gel-covered gaming mouse.

The cover is removable for cleaning or replacement.
