According to two sources that have been reliable in the past, Apple will be holding its iPhone 5S launch event on June 20th. The rumor comes from Japanese periodical MacFan, which says they have learned from trusted sources that Apple is unveiling their next generation iPhone, alongside a cheaper model in June. Apple has launched their last two iPhone’s in the fall, but all of the models before that were launched in the summer.
June does coincide with Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC). Apple has said they are planning a major revision of the software, rather than the hardware. A major software revision also reflects Apple’s incremental upgrade between models. With the launch of the iPhone 5S we could see the release of iOS 7.
Of course this is all rumor and speculation, but we will be following this story closely.
