Intel Quietly Unveils Meegopad T01 HDMI Stick

Normally when Intel launches a product it is a pretty big deal, but for some reason they have quietly released their Meegopad T01 HDMI TV stick. Now normally we see ARM hardware inside of these small HDMI sticks, but of course Intel’s version boasts an x86 foundation inside that is actually capable of running Windows 8.1!

Coming down to specs the Meegopad T01 sports an Intel Bay Trail-T based Atom Z3735F processor, which is a quad core chip running at 1.33 GHz (1.83 GHz burst) with 2MB of L2 cache. The stick also has up to 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB or 32 GB of eMMC storage, a microSD slot, two micro USB 2.0 ports, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and of course HDMI output. There is even a small power button.

As I said the HDMI stick can run Windows 8.1, but you can also load Android or Linux on it as well. The stick is being sold by a few different Chinese e-tailers for $110 plus $14.56 for shipping to the US. It is not clear if this price is for the 16GB or 32GB model or if the model has 1GB or 2GB of RAM. Whatever the case might be this HDMI stick is being touted as a fully functional PC.
