Intel’s latest Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K processors do not come bundled with a cooler. This is very typical as they are enthusiasts parts and most enthusiast will opt to use a third-party cooling solution for better performance. Not that long ago Akiba PC Hotline published details and photos of Intel’s stock cooler designed for the LGA1151 socket. The Intel Thermal Solution TS15A is quite large and more than twice the size of the LGA1150 retail cooler.
The cooler features an aluminum fin array which is made to dissipate heat from the center of the cooler. The fan on the top appears to be 90mm, we do know that it is a PWM fan though. The bottom of the cooler has a copper base with pre-applied thermal paste.
According to Akiba PC Hotline the cooler is retailing in Akihabara district for ¥5162 (US $41.50), which puts it in competition with many other third-party cooling solutions on the market. Keep in mind that the Intel Thermal Solution TS15A may not come bundled with upcoming Skylake processors and just might be made for the enthusiasts parts. The upcoming Skylake parts may come with a smaller cooler, much like the LGA1150 cooler.
