Intel will be unveiling their next generation of High End Desktop (HEDT) processors named Ivy Bridge-E on September 11th. These processors will be based on a 22nm process and a new tri-gate architecture that will take performance and efficiency of these high end parts to the next level.
ChinaDIY seems to already have received their review sample of the Core i7-4930K processor and have snapped some photos. This is of course an engineering sample (ES). This new i7-4930K would effectively replace the Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E processor. It will feature 6 cores and 12 threads with a clock speed of 3.40 GHz base and 3.90 GHz turbo. You will also get 12 MB of L3 cache. If you want to get your hands on this processor the suspected launch price will be $555.
See below for more photos of the chip.
