Intel Haswell-E and X99 Motherboards Launch Date Revealed

It has been revealed according to several sources that Intel is expected to launch its next-generation Core i7 HEDT (high-end desktop) processors, codenamed “Haswell-E” along with compatible motherboards based on the X99 Express chipset on August 29, 2014.

Intel’s Haswell-E lineup will include three processors, two six core parts and a single 8-core part. Starting off will be the flagship Core i7-5960X which will feature 8 cores, 16 threads, 20 MB of L3 cache and a 3.0 GHz clock speed. Next is the Core i7-5930K, which has six cores, 12 threads, 15 MB of L3 cache and a 3.50 GHz clock speed. The last chip is the Core i7-4820K which will be a six core chip.
