In Win X-Fighter Mid Tower Chassis Review

Installation

Installing components inside the X-fighter wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. For one, there’s not a whole lot of room to work inside the case because of two reasons; one that can be fixed easily the other that can’t. The first problem, which can’t be fixed, is the cables for the external ports. It makes it difficult to install the power supply because the cables come down from the top of the case right above the power supply. The shielding on the wire is so thick that it makes it somewhat difficult to bend and move out of the way. It would have helped if In Win moved the external ports on the case more towards the front. The other problem with the cables is that they are extremely long and impractical for a case this size.

The other problem, which could be easily fixed, is the VGA Turbo Cooling System. It makes installation difficult because you can either have it closed and reach over the system, or open the flap and have it stick outward, having you to reach over the system. This is easily fixed by removing the two screws that secure it to the case.

Once you get those problems out of the way, the installation is a piece of cake. You probably won’t have to install many motherboard standoffs because of the raised screw holes already placed on the case.

Installing an expansion card is quick and easy as well. Simply pop up the locking mechanism above the slot you’d like, install the card and press down on the mechanism to lock it back into place.

To begin installing a 5.25″ drive you must remove the front panel. To do this you need to remove the other side panel so that you can press on the notches holding it in place. Once it’s opened you can also remove the drive rail tray which is in the lowest 5.25″ bay.

The drive rails fit in with a snap; you just have to make sure the raised end is facing towards the front of the drive. Apply one to either side of the drive and snap it into place and snap the front panel back onto the case.

The hard drive rails are just as easy to place on the hard drive and just as easy to install.

Everything looks nice and compact once installation is complete.
