The Ammo sure does give its name justice! It looks exactly like a clip for a rifle! It is all black and made of 0.8mm of cold steel. This will not only protect the drive, but also keep everything inside cool. You will see some small indentations on both the top and bottom of the drive, this not only adds to the character of the drive, but also provides an anti-vibration mechanism.
The design keeps to form with an ammo clip the only things on it really are the RFID indicator and some writing that says that it was designed by In Win etc. Out the front sticks a rubber piece that has the In Win logo on it.
If you are wondering where the connections are they are on the back. There is a small rubber tab that comes down to reveal the miniUSB connection and power connection.
To get into the drive just remove the 2 small screws on the back of the drive with the provided mini screwdriver and take the back plate off. Once it is off you can remove the rubber hard drive holder inside. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this inside of a hard drive enclosure. The entire hard drive holder is made of rubber except for the PCB and connectors. Using rubber helps protect the drive as well as makes operation very quiet.
