Icy Dock MB981U3-1S Overview
The MB981U3-1S looks pretty much like every other hard drive dock out there. It is mainly made of plastic and has an Icy Dock logo on the front.
At the top of the drive is where you will install your hard drives. There are drive covers to protect from dust and other particles getting into the dock. Towards the center is a large power button and on the left is the button that will eject your drive.
Moving around to the back you have your USB 3.0 connection and power connection. The USB 3.0 connection is the standard USB 3.0 B connection. Icy Dock also offers a version of this drive that has a USB 3.0 & eSATA connection.
On the bottom of the dock are four rubber feet that will keep it from moving around on your desk.
Icy Dock also has a EZ-Dock Flex MB981U3-1SA version of this hard drive dock. The bottom part of that version actually pops out and reveals a portable adapter that supports 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch IDE hard drives and has a USB 3.0 connection.
