MB662USEB-2S-1 Overview
The MB662USEB-2S-1 enclosure has the same sleek styling we are used to seeing on ICY DOCK products. Most of the enclosure is made of aluminum and has a nice silver look to it with white accents. Since the enclosure is made of aluminum it is going to be a bit heavier than other plastic enclosures. The aluminum will help protect your drives and also keep them nice and cool.
On the front of the enclosure you have your two hard drive bays. This enclosure only supports 3.5-inch SATA hard drives up to 3TB, so in total you could have 6TB of storage in just this one unit! At the top of each bay is a small activity LED. The drive bay doors are easily released by pressing the buttons on the top of the enclosure. It really is a simple design.
On each side of the enclosure there is an ICY DOCK logo letting everyone know that you are using an ICY DOCK product. On the bottom are 4 rubber feet that will keep the enclosure in place on your desk or wherever you may have the MB662USEB-2S-1.
Moving around to the back there is a small 40mm cooling fan that will keep your drives nice and cool. There is a speed controller next to the fan if you want to turn the fan speed up or down. As far as connections go on the back of the MB662USEB-2S-1 you have USB 2.0, Firewire 800, eSATA and of course your power connection. There is also a power switch, lock port, reset button and mode selection knob. Using the knob you are able to select RAID 1, JBOD, BIG and RAID 0 modes.
