iBUYPOWER Gamer Paladin E870 i7 Gaming System Review

Testing – Gaming

This is where most you probably want to see the performance of the Gamer Paladin E870 system. Since we are running Vista all of our Benchmarks will be run in DirectX 10. I decided to choose 4 different games, some are new and some are a bit older.

First up is Crysis Warhead, it don’t think that there is any other game out there that I know of that can put as much stress on the GPU and memory that Crysis does. For out Crysis Warhead test I used the Framebuffer Crysis Warhead Benchmark. I had it on the Gamer setting, running the Ambush demo, at 1680 x 1050 resolution, running in 64-bit and DirectX 10 of course.

Next we have Lost Planet Extreme Conditions, which is a bit of an older game. I ran the built in benchmark test that runs 2 demo’s and gives you an average. Each demo was looped 3 times at 1680 X 1050 resolution.

FarCry 2 is another very popular games used for benchmarking video cards. It also has the built in benchmarking tool. We ran the “Ranch Small” demo with very high settings, and at 1680 x 1050 resolution.

PT Boats is our last game test. It is very CPU and GPU intensive, I ran the standalone benchmark with the Image quality set to high and the resolution set at 1680 x 1050.

  5. agreed, those companies such as dell, acer, gateway, hp etc. all put in the crappy stuff, and trick the general user into thinking they're buying something nice. That was once me =(, bought one laptop and one desktop from hp, and they both failed w/in one year

  6. Maybe it would have looked nicer if they made it added more stripes. instead of just one large one with a smaller one above and below.

  9. Not everyone knows how to build a custom setup or have the know how. OEM machines like Dell etc are fine for general users.

  11. If i was them, i'd rather go to a local shop, they usually have pretty competitive prices, plus by going to them, you know what is going into your machine.

  13. I would be nice if they put in the latest video card 5870 and Windows 7 64bit OS then I can understand the price.
