Hercules is a company that makes quite a lot of different products. This year at CES they were showing off their brand new WAE Outdoor Rush Bluetooth speaker. If you can guess by the name the WAE Outdoor Rush is made to be used outdoors. It is a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree being singled out as one of the most innovative speakers in its category. Check out the video below to see what it is all about.
Like most Bluetooth speakers you can use it with any device that supports Bluetooth, but on top of that it is a FM radio so you can listen to your favorite stations. Hercules calls this speaker Oceanproof as it is IP67-certified. That means it is completely dust-resistant and protected from immersion up to 1 meter in depth. It is resistant to seawater corrosion. Its metallic grilles are specially treated to protect them against corrosion by salty seawater, via a nickel electroplating process. Lab tests have demonstrated up to 2 years of resistance when the speaker is completely immersed in seawater!
The speaker itself is not overly large in size so its easy to take places with you. It is also not that heavy weighing in at just 0.7 pounds/320 grams. Its rechargeable battery allows for 12 hours of continuous use. WAE OUTDOOR RUSH also features a very handy “Boost Charger” mode, allowing you to use all of the speaker’s power to charge your phone if its battery is weak in an emergency situation. Thanks to its built-in standard screw thread, WAE OUTDOOR RUSH is compatible with any attachment system. So you can mount it to surfboard, bike, or anything that has a standard mount.
Hercules WAE OUTDOOR RUSH will be available from April 2016 at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
