The X-Wing has a full body design that is made of metal mesh and plastic. The metal mesh is on the top of the X-Wing while the plastic acts as a base for the cooling pad. The X-Wing comes in quite a few different colors, we received the black and red version but there is also silver, white, and yellow. The pad itself is a good size; you should be able to fit most notebooks up to 17-inches on it.
On the front of the X-Wing you will find something you don’t normally see on other cooling pads. You have a set of touch-sensitive keys. Starting from the left you have back, play, stop, forward, volume up, volume down, power, fan speed, temperature, lock, auto fan speed, and the fan speed adjustment. You also have a display that will show the temperature as well as show the speed of the fan.
Your notebook gets held into place on the X-Wing by 3 pieces of rubber that are placed on the top of the cooling pad. There are 2 small ones at the top and a long one at the bottom.
Moving around back you will find all of your inputs, there is the miniUSB connection for power and connectivity for the 3 USB ports on the back. There is also an AC power connection, although no AC power adapter was included. Also on the back is a large vent that will help cool your laptop.
Flipping the X-Wing over there is a large ventilation section in the middle right under the fan. You will also notice 4 rubber feet that will help keep the X-wing in place on your desk. Even though the X-Wing’s design puts your laptop at an angle there are 2 adjustable feet that put it at an even more extreme angle.
