Gigabyte has a teaser website up for their upcoming Z87 G1-Killer motherboard. The G1 Series are motherboards specifically designed for gamers and not only offer great designs but things like onboard KillerNIC’s and audio solutions from Creative. As the photo you see below suggests the G1-Killer Z87 board will feature an internal liquid cooling solution, much like the one on the ASRock Z77 OC Formula and which is also available on ASUS’s Maximus V Formula.
Gigabyte’s thermal solution would offer both passive cooling through the heatsink and liquid cooling through an internally built water channel. Gigabyte will also be equipping this board with Ultra Durable 5 components such as IR3550 PowIRstage, 2X Copper PCB and High Capacity Ferrite Core Chokes.
Taking a look at the first photo above we can see 8 VRM phases, which means there could possibly be another set of 8 VRMs on the other side giving a total of 16 VRM phases. Of course the board will support the upcoming “Haswell” processors expected to launch in June.
