Gigabyte Intros the H97-DS3H Motherboard

Gigabyte has introduced the entry-level H97-DS3H motherboard. It based on the Intel H97 Express chipset and has an ATX form-factor (305 mm x 190 mm). One thing that many people will appreciate about this motherboard is that is has a mixture of legacy and modern connectivity options.

The board has a simple 2+1 phase CPU VRM and draws power from a combination of 24pin ATX and 8pin EPS connectors. The CPU socket is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots and a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot. Other expansion slots include a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (x4 electrical), two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and two legacy PCI slots.

Storage on the motherboard includes six SATA 6GB/s ports. Display outputs include dual-link DVI, VGA and HDMI. Legacy connectivity includes keyboard and mouse PS/2 ports, COM (serial) and LPT (parallel) headers. You also have four USB 3.0 ports (2 rear, 2 by headers), a number of USB ports, gigabit Ethernet and 6-channel HD audio. The board will have a UEFI and Gigabye has thrown their dual-UEFI BIOS redundancy on the board as well. Expect a sub-$100 price-point.
