NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX Titan has been making waves over the past few weeks. It still stands as the fastest consumer-based graphics card available. We have seen many different companies release Titan cards, but they are all based on the reference design and have reference coolers. Today we get a first look at a Titan card that does not have a reference cooling solution, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX Titan WindForce 3X.
The non-reference cooling solution is made up of a large aluminum heatsink and three pwn-controlled fans. The fans actually have an increased wattage rating, which Gigabyte says is to make full use of NVIDIA’s GPU Boost 2.0 technology. Besides the cooling solution the rest of the card is the same as the reference design. It is interesting to see this card as it was our understanding that NVIDIA said all GeForce GTX Titan cards must have reference cooling solutions.
