Giada Technology has a new compact mini-PC, the D2308. This new compact system will be powered by Intel’s 4th generation Haswell processors (Core i5 / Core i7), a powerful NVIDIA GTX650 graphics card and DDR3 memory. We reviewed the Giada D2305 last year and were very impressed with it. The newer D3208 holds and same design and with upgraded hardware should give you a significant performance boost.
Giada has designed the D2308 for high-end homer theater uses. The unit supports both Ultra HD 4K and 2K content via the two HDMI outputs and it also has a really cool slot-loading Blu-ray / DVD player. While this system is great for the home theater it can also be used in other applications that require a small size, wide choice of interfaces and simplicity.
Giada claims that the D2308 will over a 15% performance boost over the previous generation and only have a max TDP of 70W. There are two SO-DIMM slots that allow you to install up to 16GB of DDR3-1333/1600 memory. There are also two Mini-PCIe slots which allow you to install extra devices (1x mSATA / 1x PCIe). There is a 5.1-channel audio codec and Gigabit Ethernet. The system also allows for a 2.5-inch hard drive to be installed.
As far as ports and connections go you have the dual HDMI ports we mentioned, DVI, VGA, USB 3.0/2.0, a 4-in-1 card reader, 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and much more.
No word yet on pricing from Giada.
