We here at ThinkComputers are very avid gamers. So each Friday we will be covering a game that should help you get through the weekend. The games will range from new games to classics that we still love to play. They also are not limited to just PC games either. The game we are talking about today is very simple, you have probably played some variation of it in your lifetime, whether it be the physical game, on a computer or on a mobile device. The game I am talking about is Words With Friends from Zynga the makers of the ever-popular games such as FarmVille and Mafia Wars. Let’s check out this game and see what it is all about.
Words With Friends is very similar to scrabble, but has many differences that make it a completely different game. The main basis of the game is that you need to make words on the board with the letters you are given. Each letter is with a certain number amount. On the board you will also have bonus’s like TL (triple letter) or DW (double word). Once the first word is created you can only build off of that word.
Words With Friends takes that experience to another level with the multi-player aspect. The game is available on both iOS and Android. So if you have a WiFi, 3G or even EDGE connection you are able to play the game with friends. You can find friends to play against via your contact list, their username, Facebook, or Twitter. You can even select to have a random opponent.
This multi-player experience makes your list of opponents pretty much endless. Another thing that is great about the game is that it is made for mobile devices. This way the game is always with you and if you are playing with someone and they play their move you are notified right away via a notification on your phone. This way games can last for days and even weeks because you don’t have to play your move right away and neither does your opponent.
Another cool feature of the game is the chat function. At the top right of the game screen is a chat bubble where you can go into the chat. This way you can chat with the person you are playing with.
All in all this game really is a lot of fun and very addicting. Almost anyone I know with an iPhone or Android device has the game and it is a great game to play. It makes the perfect muse before going to bed, at the office or when you are waiting in line for something.
