GALAX GeForce GTX 980 HOF Spotted

GALAX’s upcoming GeForce GTX 980 Hall of Fame (HOF) Edition graphics card was spotted at Intel’s X99 LAN Party event held in Beijing, China. The card was seen being used on a setup by ASRock’s overclocker Nick Shih when he achieved the world record overclock of 6.6 GHz on Intel’s latest Core i7-5960X Extreme Processor.

Taking a look at the card we can see GALAX is keeping their milk white PCB that the Hall of Fame cards are known for. The cooling system on the card is made up of three fans, a large heatsink array and multiple heatpipes. The PCB on this card will have a custom design and that is what GALAX is known for. Their PCB designs can only be rivaled by Colorful’s iGame KUDAN series or MSI’s Lightning series. Power to the card comes via dual 8pin PCI-Express power connectors.

The GeForce GTX 980 has 2048 CUDA Cores, 128 TMUs, 64 ROPs and a 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM running across a 256-bit bus interface. We expect this card to have a very nice factory overclock out of the box. No word yet on pricing or availability. We will keep you updated when more information on this card surfaces.
