Not that long ago we took a look at our first power supply from Fractal Design, the Newton R3 600W. While that unit sits as Fractal Design’s top tier power supply today we are checking out one of their more mainstream units the Telsa R2 650W power supply. While this power supply is not modular it still features an 80PLUS Gold certification, single 12V rail, and a temperature controlled 135mm cooling fan. The Tesla R2 still has the same great looks we saw on the Newton R3, but can it perform? Read on as we find out!
- 80PLUS Gold certified
- Single, powerful 12V rail
- SLI (650W and up) and CrossFireX Certified
- Long-life ball-bearing fan
You can see the rest of the specifications and information on the Tesla R2 650W on its product page.
The Tesla R2 comes in a nice retail package. On the front it has a photo of the product and lets you know that it is 80PLUS Gold certified, has a 3 year warranty and is SLI and CrossFireX certified. On the back there is more information and it also gives you a breakdown of the included cables.
Opening the package up you will find that everything is nicely packaged. The power supply is in a Fractal Design bag that you can use to carry some of your accessories. Getting everything out you have the Tesla R2 unit, power cable, a bag of zip ties, velcro organizers and mounting screws, and a large users manual.
