Fractal Design Node 304 Overview
For a full video overview of the Node 304 check out our video below.
The Node 304 has that same cube design we see on many small form factor cases. The case is pretty small with official dimensions of 250 x 210 x 374 mm (WxHxD) and it weighs in at 10.80lbs. The case is all black and that is the only color currently available.
The front of the case is all plain, at first I actually thought it was a door hiding the 5.25-inch drive bays but it is not. This cause has no 5.25-inch drive bays, which may not be a big deal to many people. I myself have not used an optical drive for some years now. There are some ventilation holes towards the top of the case and that is for the two 92mm fans on the front of the case. You can easily remove the front panel to take a look at the fans.
On right side of the case is a small ventilated area, this is actually for your power supply. You will also find some connections and your power button on the right side. As far as connections go you have two USB 3.0 ports and audio ports. The the left side there is a large ventilated section that goes across the side of the case to provide more cooling.
On the back of the case you will find a large 140mm exhaust fan. So in total you have three included cooling fans. You can also see that there are two expansion slots, so you will be able to install a video card in the case. Towards the top right there is a small fan controller that has high, medium and low speeds. On the bottom left you will notice a power connection, we will get into what that’s for in just a little bit.
Flipping the case over on the bottom you will find 4 rubber feet that will keep the case off the ground. Also there is a filter below the power supply mounting that can be easily removed for cleaning.
