Flip MinoHD Overview
As you can see we received a custom Flip MinoHD with the Market Leverage logo on it. You can get the Flip MinoHD in black, choose a design from the Flip website, or even upload your own image to be printed on the front of your Flip. The front of the MinoHD just has the lens, it does not have a lens cover though. On the bottom you will find a tripod mounting connector. It is nice that such a small device still has a tripod connector, this still makes it an option to people who are going to use this camera for professional use.
The only button you will find on the left side of the MinoHD is the power button. On the opposite side you will find the USB release button and TV out connection. The USB connector is hidden in the top of the Flip. When you press the release button it will pop out. I was very surprised that they were still able to make it “flip” with the small design of the Mino.
The back of the Flip MinoHD is a lot different from the Flip Ultra. For starters it is completely flat, which will make it easier to put in your pocket. You still have the big red record button in the center. A big change on the Mino is the 6 touch-sensitive control buttons. The Play/Pause and erase buttons are indented so you can easily use them. Above the controls is the 1.5-inch TFT. The TFT is transflective so you still will be able to see what you’re filming even on a bright sunny day.
They do call this version of the Flip the Mino for a reason, it is VERY small! The Flip Ultra was just a little too big to have in your pocket all the time. The Mino is about the size of a cell phone so it can easily be in your pocket at all times. Here is the Mino compared to the Ultra.
