We have seen many motherboard manufacturers reveal their Z87 motherboards, but EVGA has not been one of them, until now! They are teasing their upcoming Z87 Classified motherboard, which will be the flagship motherboard in their Z87 line. Also shown in the photo you see below is their new UEFI BIOS, which looks to be much improved.
EVGA has gone like most companies with a black and red color scheme on this board. There are two large heatsinks on the board, one over the PCH and one over your power delivery components. The heatsinks are connected together by way of a large heatpipe. The Z87 Classified will use military grade components and a digital PWM supply. There are voltage adjustment switches located next to the SATA ports for overclockers. There are also OC, Power On / Off, and reset buttons as well as a debug LED by the memory slots.
Expansion slots include five PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, a single PCI Express 3.0 x1 slot and a mPCIe slot. This motherboard supports both SLI and CrossFireX setups. For storage there are 8 SATA 6GB/s ports and a USB 3.0 header. Connectivity on the rear I/O includes dual Thunderbolt, 8 USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and 8.1 channel audio. No word yet on pricing, but expect to see this board at the Haswell launch.
