Eurocom has come up with yet another laptop besides its 17.3 inch Panther 4.0, Scorpius and Neptune 3.0 mobile workstations, it is the Racer 2.0. It is basically a 15.6 inch display and comes in an option of both matte and glossy finish offering a LED backlit display. It is said that the screen covers 95% Gamut/NTSC optional and has a high definition resolution of 1920 X 1080p. It is the most powerful 15.6 inch notebook ever.
A munificent array of ports provides loads of connectivity choice. Video outputs include HDMI and DVI, and you get a total of five USB ports, out of which two support USB 3.0 connectivity. One of the USB 2.0 ports is an eSATA/USB combo port that permits you to connect external storage devices. This model supports a standard DVD-burning optical drive, a tray-loader on the right edge. In our point of view, a Blu-ray reader would have been a much better escort to the Racer’s high-resolution display.
The system is power-driven by a 2.2GHz Core i7-2720 quad-core processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and an AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics chip with 2GB of its own video memory. It performed radiantly on almost every test it went through.
The Racer 2.0 laptop, Quadro professional graphics and everything else, measures 376 x 256 x 35-43 mm (15 x 10.2 x 1.4-1.7 inches) and weighs 3.1kg / 6.82lbs.
