DeepCool Neptwin CPU Cooler Review

DeepCool Neptwin Overview
Although certainly not the largest CPU cooler on the market, you will notice that this one is of substantial size.

This tower cooler measures 159mm tall, 136mm long (with fans installed), and 126mm wide.  With 40 fins per tower there is plenty of surface area to dissipate the heat generated by your CPU.

The Neptwin is a twin tower style cooler.  This means that it has two separate parallel stacks of aluminum cooling fins through which run 6 copper heat pipes.

The pipes are bent in a U shape with the bottom of the U running through the massive copper base.  The base is a two piece solid copper design with a nickel coating.  This makes for a very shinny and most importantly, a smooth flat mirror finish base.  There are no machine marks what so ever.  This is truly a beautiful finish.

As you can see there is no mounting hardware attached to the Neptwin’s base when you take it out of the box.  This is due to the universal nature of the cooler and makes it really easy to clean and handle.  I will go further into this design in the installation section.

Included with the Neptwin are two fans; one is of the PWM controlled variety; the other is a standard 3 pin.  They both plug into the included full PWM 4 fan splitter with included 3M double sided sticky tape for installation.  Also included is Deepcool’s very own Z9 thermal compound.  As well as the nice touch of included thermal compound, there are enough wire fan clips for 3 fans.  And of course also included are all the brackets for the different socket types supported.
