D-Link DCS-2630L Full HD 180-Degree Wi-Fi Camera Review

D-Link DCS-2630L Overview
The DCS-2630L has a nice large diameter base that has rubber around the edges and a metal interior that does a great job of keeping the camera stable. The pivot connection between the base and the body of the camera is quite stiff while still allowing you to easily change the tilt angle of the camera. It has a really nice high quality feel to it that will not allow the camera to easily fall forward or backwards.

The camera body itself has a high gloss plastic exterior in the front. The camera lense is located right in the center of the circular body and is ringed by the IR LEDs. Above the camera lens is the light sensor which is slightly below the microphone. Beneath the single horizontal split in the face of the camera body is the PIR motion sensor.

The camera body is connected to the pivot joint via the 360° camera rotation wheel that lets you adjust the horizontal angle of the camera after it has been installed. This ring is then connected to two stylishly twisting pieces of plastic bringing us to the stand. The back of the camera is fully vented and houses a lot of cool features. This includes a speaker for two way communication, a recessed reset switch, a microSD slot, a WPS button for instant syncing, and a status LED. Beneath the venting you will also find the 802.11 ac wireless antenna and of course the processors. On the very bottom you will find the micro USB connector for power.

Turning the tab at the back of the base of the unit will release the plastic ring cover that hides the four recessed wall mounting holes. Another feature worth mentioning is the ~ 9’ power cord attached to the 5 V DC power converter which will allow you to mount the unit in a lot of high or hard to reach places.
