CRYORIG R1 Ultimate CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts
It is quite a feat to jump into the enthusiast PC cooling market, especially with so many established brands out there that people already know. When I first heard of CRYORIG I said only one thing, “They better come out with something impressive”. To really get the attention of the market and consumers out there they had to, and with the R1 Ultimate they really did.

Based on pure performance it is the best CPU cooler that we have tested recently, beating out other coolers from well-established companies. This is a cooler that can handle the most high-end processors running overclocked 24/7. Performance has a lot to do with many of the design features of the cooler like the Jet Fin Acceleration System, Heatsink Displacement Optimization, and DirectCompress Soldering. These features are things that seem so simple, yet we have not seen them before and based on performance they do make a difference.

Another thing that I was a little worried about when I first took a look at the cooler was how easy installation would be. Mainly because this is a pretty large cooler. Surprisingly installation was quite easy and went without a hitch. Many air coolers that are even smaller than this cooler are harder to install. Again that says a lot about CRYORIG and how they designed the R1 Ultimate.

The size of the cooler could cause some clearance issues if you happen to have memory with taller heatspreaders on them. So you are going to want to keep that in mind. CRYORIG does offer the R1 Universal which has a smaller front fan that ensures compatibility with taller memory modules.

Being CRYORIG’s first product and their flagship product, the R1 Ultimate really does a great job showing what CRYORIG is all about and what they want to bring to the marketplace. It will be interesting to see how other CRYORIG coolers compare when we get our hands on them, but the R1 Ultimate is a great start.

Overall ThinkComputers gives the CRYORIG R1 Ultimate CPU Cooler a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award.
