Corsair H100i GTX Liquid CPU Cooler Review

We’ve looked at a large portion of AIO coolers from the Fremont, California based hardware manufacturer Corsair. This includes our most recent review the H110i GT which set the bar high as the best performing AIO cooler that we have tested here at ThinkComputers. Of course that isn’t the limit of Corsair’s capabilities as they offer a full line of coolers for all different needs. Today we’ll once again take a look a large AIO cooler, the 240mm rad equipped H100i GTX. Follow along as we find out if this cooler can go punch for punch with it’s highly successful bigger brother.

Special thanks to Corsair for providing the H100i GTX for review!

Features
240mm radiator
The double-wide radiator offers approximately twice the cooling area of our Hydro Series coolers which use a 120mm or 140mm radiator. It fits virtually any case that has dual 120mm fan mounts spaced for a 240mm radiator.

Advanced SP120L PWM fans
Our custom-designed SP120L fans are different than standard case fans – they’re custom-designed to deliver high static pressure for mounting directly against radiators, and the fan blades are specially shaped for maximum air delivery with minimum noise. Since they’re PWM controlled, you can customize the fan speed to choose the optimal point on the performance/noise curve.

Built-in Corsair Link for monitoring, customization, and control
Attach the included Corsair Link cable to a USB header on your motherboard and download the free Corsair Link software to unlock even more power. You can customize cooling performance, monitor coolant and CPU temperatures, and change the color of the RGB LED lighting from the default white to match your system, or to change color based on temperature readings and other inputs.

High-performance CPU cooling made simple
Gone are the days when watercooling required lots of work. The H100i GTX is a closed loop design that comes pre-filled, and it comes with a modular, tool-free mounting bracket for faster installation.

Packaging
Like all the Corsair AIOs that we have reviewed before, the H100i GTX comes to us in a flip top cardboard box. This one has a black background over which a grey and red theme has been printed. The front of the box features a photo of the cooler itself front and center. Below is the coolers name and a few icons with some brief text pointing out some features. Flipping to the back of the box you will find the majority of the product information. The features are all arranged around a performance graph as well as a simple CAD drawing of the radiator with it’s dimensions listed.

Switching to the side of the box we find that Corsair has included a full compatibility listing. It also states that you will need an open USB 2.0 header as well as an internet connection in order to download their free software. One last turn we find the bottom of the box has a short list of the included components.

Flipping the top open there is a warranty card as well as an installation manual. These are placed on top of a thin sheet of foam that protects the top of the components from damage. Our test unit arrived in perfect condition, thanks in part to the formed cardboard shell that holds all the components securely in place.

When we remove the cooler from the packaging we find that it is completely wrapped in two plastic bags. Additionally the fans are also enclosed in thin cardboard sleeves to keep them in good shape.
