Testing
To test the drive we will be using HDTune and Sandra’s removable storage benchmark on a new system that has a Core i5-750 processor and 4GB of memory. For comparison we will be testing the Padlock 2 against the Kingston Data Traveler mini10 flash drive, which also is an 8GB drive.
To give you an idea of the performance on the Padlock 2 here is the actual HDTune graph.
And the results compared to the Kingston drive.
Now here are the results from the Sandra removable storage benchmark. Remember higher results are better.
Finally we did the File Benchmark in HDtune on both drives. The Padlock 2 results are on the left and the Kingston results are on the right.
That padlock USB is great! It is cold and water resistant making the most durable USB ever.
TrueCrypt enables you to encrypt an entire partition or storage device such as USB flash drive. No data stored on an encrypted volume can be read (decrypted) without using the correct password/keyfile(s) or correct encryption keys.
I think it’s a littble bit expensive.
When I compared the price to other keypad lock USB drives out there, their price is pretty competitive. Saw that Apricorn had come out with similar type of item, but not sure of price.
I’ve been busting my hump trying to find a lanyard for my new corsair USB 3.00 32gb survivor – can’t find them anywhere though. Any advice anyone?
