Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 Case Review

Final Thoughts
There only have been a few cases that after reviewing them I think to myself there really is nothing wrong with this case. That is exactly how I feel about the Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 case. Corsair just did it right with this case.

The dual chamber design is something that we really have only seen from Lian Li on ATX cases. It is good to see another case company try this idea and Corsair executed it almost perfectly. The dual chamber design allows you to have your hardware separated into two chambers for better cooling as well as easier installation. This design also makes it great to show off the hardware inside of your case with the large side panel window. You don’t have hard drive cages or optical drives in the way of your beautiful motherboard and video card.

When it comes to cooling Corsair really did a great job with this case. There are three included 140 mm fans, but you can add two more or a combination of fans if you go with 120 mm fans. If you want to go the watercooling route, this case is definitely made for that. On the front you can fit up to a 360 mm radiator and on the top of the case you can fit a 280 mm radiator. If that is not enough if you really wanted you could also install a 140 mm radiator. This case really is a watercooler’s dream.

All of the tool-less systems on the case work great and I did not run into a single issue during installation. There are more than enough cable routing holes and room in the second chamber to route and hide your cables.

If I really wanted to nitpick the only thing I would have liked to have seen would have been a filter on the bottom of the case where the openings are for the hard drives, but at the end of the day this case is pretty much flawless.

Right now you can pick up the Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 for around $165 at my favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 Case a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
