For this installation we used an AMD based system. For AMD installations you have the ability to install the cooler either vertical or horizontal (at least with relation to the base of the cooler). This will determine the angle that your cooler will be installed. I had to go with the vertical installation because using the horizontal solution would hit the heatsink on my motherboard.
Once you get your bracket attached and rubber grommets applied, you can then apply the thermal grease, attach the cooler to the motherboard, then secure with backplate and nuts. It’s easier if you flip your motherboard upside down over top of the cooler to secure it properly.
There is just barely enough clearance for standard RAM sticks. Anyone using heat spreaders that stick above the RAM will not be able to use this cooler.
Like I mentioned before, the top plastic piece is just for show and has no functional use on the cooler. I had to remove it to even get my motherboard inside of my case, a Raidmax Seiran.
