Cooler Master V850 Overview
The V850 unit has a pretty sleek design to it. It is not overly flashy, but does have some style to it. The one thing you will notice about this unit is that it is 100% modular so no cables are connected to the unit at all.
On the top of the unit is a large sticker with the input and output numbers on it. It also lets us know that the unit is 80PLUS Gold certified. This means that it will be 90% efficient at 50% load and 87% efficient at 100% load. The bottom of the unit houses the 135 mm cooling fan. It is covered by a honeycomb mesh. This is one of Cooler Master’s FDB fans, which are said to be very quiet.
The side of the unit has the V850 logo on it. It is on both sides so if you do have a side panel window that shows your power supply everyone will be able to see that you are rocking the V850. The back of the unit has a mesh design to help with airflow. Like most power supplies you will find the power connection and power button back here.
The front of the unit is where you will find all of your modular connections. They are labeled, which will help you if you don’t know where to plug in your cables. Talking about the modular cables they are made up of the following: Motherboard 20+4pin x1, CPU 4+4pin x1, PCI-Express 6+2pin x6, SATA x9, Molex x4, and floppy x1.
