Final Thoughts
Unlike some of the previous Cooler Master power supplies, the Silent Pro M series has a rocker power switch. 80PLUS certification is an excellent thing to have even though some manufacturers have chosen not to seek it, instead choosing to simply tout their efficiency.
I like the Cooler Master warranty, too. It’s 5 years and replacement for just about any failure is guaranteed. Few manufacturers have the chutzpah to say that their technology will last five years.
ThinkComputers gives the Cooler Master Silent Pro M 500W Power Supply a 9 out of 10 score and the Editor’s Choice award.
Pros:
– 5 year warranty
– Modular
– 80PLUS Certification
Cons:
– Mesh covered modular cables would be the icing on the cake
Important note: Remember when looking back at the output graphs that my rig actually pulls just 30W less than the maximum sustained output of this, a 500W unit. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using just a 500W unit on this rig-folks with less power-hungry graphics cards and processors would.

Love this series of psu, they run quite quiet
Its a great follow up to their Real Power Pro series.

i'd go with one of the psus in this series with more power, ie. the 700w, 850w or 1000w since it provides upgradeability, you never know when you'll need more power.

750-850W is more than enough for my needs.
I think 1000W almost guarantees you'll be able to run everything you want currently and in the future.
