Cooler Master NotePal U3 Notebook Cooler Review

Setup & Usage
Getting the fans on the backside of the NotePal is very simple.  Each fan has 4 prongs on it that attach through the holes on the NotePal and lock into place.  There is more than enough wire for you to attach the fans where you want them on the NotePal.

Once you have the fans attached you can flip NotePal over and attach the fan speed controller clip where you want it on the cooler.  I decided to put it on the left side.  The fans can be easily removed too, just press the unlock button on them and they will come off.

For our testing we will be using an HP Dv7-3078NR 17-inch laptop.  Placing the laptop on the NotePal you can see that it takes up most of the space, but seems to fit perfectly on the stand.  I wonder how well a 19-inch laptop would fair on the NotePal U3.

For testing we will be putting full load on the laptop’s CPU with Prime 95.  Also we have turned the fans on high speed to take out any variables.  Here are our results.

graph

As you can see the results are very good here, 8 degrees difference during load and 6 degrees difference during idle.
