Cooler Master NotePal U Stand Review

Setup & Testing
The first thing you are going to want to do is install the 2 100mm silent fans.  Cooler Master makes this easy.  On each fan are 4 locking points that connect perfectly to the holes in the laptop stand itself.  So you just line them up and snap them on.  To release them just press in the button on the top of each fan.  This modular fan design allows you to pinpoint the hot areas of your laptop for the best cooling results.  The fan plug in to a small connector on the right side of the stand.

The anti-slip rubber strip is also easily installed, just snap it in where you want it.  After you have the fans and the rubber strip installed you are good to go.

So how are we going to test the Notepal U Stand?  We will be using our 15-inch Lenovo ThinkPad Edge as our test laptop.

We will be doing 3 different tests, one with no stand at all, using the stand on the lowest height setting and using the stand at the highest height setting.  I used IntelBurn Test to put a full load on the CPU and temperatures were recorded with CoreTemp.  Here are the results.

As you can see the Notepal U Stand did its job by keeping our laptop cooler than normal.
