Colorful Shows off iGame Z170 Motherboard Concept

We are still expecting the launch of Intel’s Skylake processors later this year and with that we will see a whole slew of new motherboards. While we have not heard much it looks like Colorful is showing off their concept for their iGame Z170 motherboard.

Obviously this is just a concept so we don’t know what the final product will look like. The board is said to be based off the Z170 series chipset. It has the LGA1151 socket that will support Intel’s 6th Generation processors that are part of the Skylake-S family. The board has four DDR4 DIMM slots that support up to 64GB of dual channel memory.

The PCB of the board is all black and the board has what looks like thermal armor on it in both black and white colors. The board will be power by way of a 24pin ATX power connector and an 8pin EPS connector. The board has a 16 phase all digital power design and actually integrated liquid cooling channels as well.

Looking at storage we have 12 SATA 6GB/s ports and possible one or even two SATA Express ports on the final design. Along the bottom of the board there is a USB 3.0 header and a couple of USB 2.0 headers. For expansion you have three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, three PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots, and a single M.2 interface. The board will have its own audio solution, but we are unsure of what it is at the moment.

You can expect features like USB 3.1 support on these new boards as well. Expect more details on this board and other Z170 motherboards as we get closer to Computex.
