CM Storm Control-RX Mousepad Review

A Closer Look
The first thing you notice is how big the mousepad is. It measures 17.32” x 13.77” x 0.19” and weighs 1.76 lbs. So before you pull the trigger on it, you better break out the ruler and make sure it will fit on your desk. It barely fits on mine but it also holds my drink, snacks and phone. I only use about 1/3 to 1/2 of it any anytime and I never bump into the things I have on it.

The Control-RX uses a Lycra surface which is also known as Spandex here in the US. The weave of the surface makes it great for low DPI gaming which means you will have less in game jittering. I also find it great for using precision programs like Google Sketchup, CAD, Lightroom and the like. This also makes for silent movement of your mouse. On top of all of that, it is water resistant!

The logos on it are stylish and really keep with the CM Storm style. The top one gives you their logo and brand name and the bottom one tells you the product name.

The Control-RX has a gel like core that is 0.19 inches (5 mm) thick which gives you some degree of comfort when doing some extended gaming.

The bottom of the mousepad has a non-slip polyurethane base which means it actually “grabs” onto your desk so that it won’t slip away from you. I can’t even count how many times my current XPS surface rotates on me during normal gaming. The Control-RX really lives up to this because I can even stick this thing on my wall and it won’t move.
