Installation
Installation is a little awkward, but fairly easy to do. To start off you need to remove the plate covering the power supply hole and install the power supply.
To actually install the motherboard you have to lay the “L” shaped case on the side as best as you can, which gives you a slanted work area. Installing the motherboard standoffs and actually installing the motherboard is no different than any other case.
There are no tool-free devices implemented into the expansion slots, but it’s still pretty easy to install.
To install an internal 3.5” drive you need to first grab four of the black thumbscrews and attach it to the screw holes which are the furthest apart; two on either side of the drive. Once you’ve attached them you will slide the drive into the slot at an angle, but making sure that the connection end is facing towards you. After angling it in it should snap into place.
Installing the 5.25” drive is just as simple, except you will be using the four white thumbscrews. Once you’ve attached them slide the drive into place and lock it with the plastic tab on the right side of the mount. I found that an older, longer drive doesn’t work in this case, so don’t attempt to install one because it just won’t work.
Once you get your components installed you can work on mounting your LCD. You’ll first need to remove the two screws holding the mounting bracket off of the front of the case.
For this LCD installation we used a 19” (not widescreen) ViewSonic VX924. We had to remove the plastic covering off of the back before we could remove the four screws holding the LCD to the base.
Once you have successfully removed the base of the LCD from the actual monitor you can then attach it to the back of the monitor via four screw holes. There are three sets of screw holes on this mounting bracket, it will just depend on your monitor which one you’ll need to use. If you’re using a 19” monitor, like we are in this installation it’s recommended by Chieftec to have the larger portion of the mount facing towards the top of the monitor.
Once you have attached the mount to the monitor you’ll then have to pull up on the latch, as shown below. Then simply slide the mount into the slot, align it to your desired height and press the latch down onto the case.
The monitor has a decent vertical rotation for being an LCD case.

you never know when you're dealing with kids what they will do, i've had lots of bad experiences. It's not like they won't have to adjust the monitor
And scratch it somehow? yeah right.
what are you talking about scratch? where was it mentioned that they were going to scratch anything. i'm saying they might accidentally tip this computer over since if you attach a monitor to it, it may be quite imbalanced.
i doubt this will be a hit.

maybe, you would be careful, but what if your niece / nephews came over and were on your computer… calling for disaster.
How so? They'll be sitting in a chair, not mess around with the tower.

I love this case. It’s perfect for someone like me who has very little space and a very small desk. Right now, I have my PC on the floor under my desk because my monitor takes up too much room, and I hate it. Also, I doubt veyr seriously this case would be unbalanced. I’m sure that the manufacturer designed it in such a way that it could handle an lcd attached to it… otherwise they would not have made it that way. I do think it needs to be modded, a bit though… would be a perfect case to mod for better airflow.
