On NVIDIA’s latest releases, the GTX 970 and 980 we saw many add-in card (AIC) partners that use custom cooling solutions feature a idle-fan off mode. This feature allows for the fans on the card to turn completely off when the card is at idle or below a temperature threshold. This in turn makes the card completely silent when you are not gaming. NVIDIA is planning at add this feature to their next generation GeForce GTX Titan X graphics card.
Google has launched their domain name service officially in the US. This brings Google yet into another market. Their domain service has a lot of features and extras which might make it quite competitive to big name domain providers like GoDaddy.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, announced today that it has begun mass producing the industry’s first 8 gigabit (Gb) GDDR5 DRAM, based on the company’s leading-edge 20-nanometer (nm) process technology. GDDR5 is the most widely used discrete graphics memory in the world.
To start the card will be based on NVIDIA’s 28 nm GM206 silicon. It will pack in 1024 CUDA cores that are based on the Maxwell architecture, 64 TMUs, possibly 32 ROPs, and has 2 GB of memory across a 128-bit wide GDDR5 interface. While you may think that the bus seems narrow, NVIDIA will be using lossless texture compression technology that will effectively improve bandwidth utilization.
Antec was showing off their next flagship case at CES 2015. This case is the P380 and it does look quite promising. The case can fit E-ATX, SSI-CEB, HPTX, XL-ATX, ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards, so you are pretty much covered with everything there.
