A Look at the New ThinkComputers Office

A Look at the New ThinkComputers Office

Running ThinkComputers is a full time job and sometimes it is hard to do that job when you are not very comfortable sitting at your computer every day. If you didn’t know ThinkComputers is mainly based in Pittsburgh, PA and I run the website out of my house. I have turned the extra bedroom into an office for ThinkComputers. When I first moved in I had the room setup a completely different way than what it is now. Originally I had the 2 desks separated, one in each corner of the room. This really did not work at all, things just became too cramped and my desk was really cluttered. Read on to see what the new office looks like!

February 2010 in Review

February 2010 in Review

Another month has gone by here at ThinkComputers! This month was a really bad month for weather here in Pittsburgh, one of the worst storms in memory hit us and things haven’t got much better, it has been snowing almost every other day. Besides the crazy weather we had a lot of really cool reviews this month. My favorite would have to be the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 13-inch notebook. It is a great consumer based laptop, but at the same time it has many business features people will like. Also make sure you check out the Is Android Taking Over article. Read on to see the top content, traffic sources, etc for February.

January 2010 in Review

Wow its 2010, not only a new year, but a new decade! As many of you know January is a crazy month for us as we headed to Vegas for CES. So most of the month we covered CES, but we did get some reviews in as well. My favorite article from CES would have to be the ASUS article, they are really going to be releasing some cool new video cards and motherboards. As far as reviews go my favorite was the CyberPower Gamer Xtreme 2000 Core i5 Gaming System. It was really fun playing games on the system while I had it.

CES 2010 Wrap Up

CES 2010 Wrap Up

This year’s CES was sure great! It’s been 2 weeks since the event and we have completed our coverage of the event. We posted a total of 33 articles covering the show, our largest coverage of the show yet! I think the site being on wordpress made a huge difference! My favorite product of the entire show was Lenovo’s U1 laptop. It has a screen to pull out of the chassis and becomes a tablet. You can check it out in our Digital Experience article. Here is a list of all the CES coverage from start to finish.

The 2009 Year In Review

The 2009 Year In Review

Wow with all of the CES coverage going on I did not time to write this article up, but now since the show is over I have some time. 2009 was a great year for ThinkComputers! Probably the biggest thing, at least for me was moving the site over to wordpress and getting the new design made. Pretty much a straight 2 weeks of doing nothing but work on the new design went into it and we are very happy with the results. ThinkComputers grew as a site in 2009 and we hope in 2010 we grow even more! So what were the highlights in 2009?

The 2010 PC Race For Charity

The 2010 PC Race For Charity

As you may know from our previous blog post the PC Race for Charity was held just a few days ago and our very our Colin Dean competed in the event. The PC Race is one of the best events to attend during CES. Not only is it for a good cause, but you really get to network with a lot of people and hell it has the best food! Also it’s probably the only place you will be able to find most of the tech media all in one place! So the way this event works is that 30 contestants all tech media see who can build a computer the quickest with the winner getting $10,000 towards the charity of their choice. Second and third place also get cash prizes for charity and everyone’s computer that gets built does get donated to their charity so it is a win-win!

A Christmas Gift from ASUS

A Christmas Gift from ASUS

The other day I received a package in the mail from ASUS. It contained the packages you see above. ASUS was nice enough to send us a Christmas gift this year to show their appreciation for our support of their products. I really was not sure what was inside the boxes, but when I went to open them I was surprised with cookies and candy! These treats are from Cheryl&Co. and are very good, ASUS picked a good set that has something everyone will like. Special thanks to ASUS for all their support throughout the year and we wish them a very safe and happy holiday.
