Buffalo Rolls Out External Blu-ray XL Writers

Buffalo Japan has just announced its newest portable, BDXL compatible Blu-ray Disc writer, the BRXL-PC6VU2-C. This will be available in a range of four glossy color options, i.e., white, red and black. This USB-powered drive is capable of 6x BD-R, 6x BD-R DL, 6x BD-R LTH, 2x BD-RE and 2x BD-RE DL writing speeds and a maximum BD-ROM read speed of 6x. On the other hand, the BRXL-PC6VU2-C also writes to triple- (100GB) and quad-layer (128GB) BD-R media at 4x and triple-layer (100GB) BD-RE media at 2x. This model from Buffalo gives you the flexibility and adaptability of both bus-only power, and DC power input aka power boost.

It also possesses a LED light, which will turn on to indicate that the battery is running low and prompts to plug in its AC adapter in case when the drive isn’t getting ample power from its USB port. The drive also comes with a software bundle from CyberLink that supports BDXL recording as well as Blu-ray 3D playback. Buffalo BRXL-PC6VU2-C is planned to ship in early September and will retail for about 10,920 Yen ($112US).
