BodyMedia Link Armband Review

Setup & Usage
When you first get the Link Armband unpackaged you are going to want to charge it up and install the BodyMedia Sync software. This will automatically send stats to BodyMedia as soon as you plug the Link Armband into your computer. When you are setting up the software you will need to complete your online profile for BodyMedia FIT’s online activity manager. It asks simple questions like how much you weigh, when you normally wake up and go to sleep etc.

Once you have all of that competed you are ready to go and start tracking your stats. So just put on the Link Armband and go about your day as normal. With the Link Armband there are two ways to keep track of your stats.

The first is with your iPhone. You can install the BodyMedia FIT app from the app store and get it all setup. Then you can sync it to your Link Armband via Bluetooth. From there you can get live stats whenever you want. The first menu shows you all of your stats in a nice bar graph. From here you can also upload those stats directly to the BodyMedia website. The second tab is nutrition where you can track what you’ve eaten throughout the day. Just like all trackers like this you will need to input this information manually. BodyMedia allows you to save your favorite foods and has an extensive list of foods already to choose from. The third tab is workouts. Here you can select certain workouts. So maybe you want to walk 2000 steps in a day or burn 500 calories you can select that from the options and then get started on your workout. It even gives you the ability to select songs from your music library for the workout.

If we go back to the main dashboard on the app and rotate our phone we now see a detailed graph of our activity. This shows your in detail how much activity you’ve done throughout the day. The Calories Consumed section is actually extremely detailed.

Now for some reason if you do not have a smartphone or would rather use your computer you can download the BodyMedia Fit sync software from BodyMedia. Once installed all you have to do to check your stats is take the Armband off and connect it via the included USB cable to your computer. Once you have done that it will automatically launch the software and start syncing your stats. Once it is done it will load the BodyMedia Online Activity Manager, which is much like what you see in the app.

These are definitely some really in-depth stats here. Much more than the simple steps you have taken or calories burned that many of the other fitness products offer.
