When you start getting into recording videos after time you will realize that most microphones on your digital camera or camcorder are not that great, especially if you want high quality audio. There are quite a few external microphone and digital recorders out there, but one of the most popular ones is the Zoom H1. The H1’s onboard microphones are configured in an X/Y pattern for stunning stereo imaging. Because both mics are arranged on the same axis, they are equidistant from the sound source for perfect localization and no phase shifting. The result is great stereo recordings with natural depth and accurate imaging. Read on the check out our unboxing and overview video.
So ROCCAT’s booth was quite interesting, I mean “Ze German’s are coming, and this time we’ll play nice” is a tough slogan, so I wanted to see what they had to impress me. Put it this way, the 6000 DPI adjustable, East-Shift Button, Tracking & Distance Control Unit, Driver + Macro Manager, On-board Memory (yes you read that right), Weight system (yes you read that right again) did NOT let me down. This mouse is priced at $79.99 which is a highly competitive price to top name mouses on the market today. Check out the awesome interview Kathrine & Marcus provided and it will blow your mind on gaming peripherals!
Hyperkin now owns the rights to Game Genie, and has produced a version of it for Nintendo DS console variants since these portable consoles still use cartridges. Not to be dissuaded from the optical media consoles, Hyperkin is also unleashing a solution for copying and altering save games called the Save Guru. We also saw the 3-in-1 classic gaming console, the Retron 3, which can play Sega Genesis, NES, and SNES games and has wireless controllers. Lastly, we saw an AK-47-inspired gun accessory for the PSMove. ThinkComputers’ Mark Howland speaks to Leo from Hyperkin in this video interview.
We stopped by the Sennheiser booth to check out their new gaming headphones. In the video, they showed us the PC360, an open air headphone, with noise canceling, and includes a noise canceling microphone. It is in stores now at $249. We also checked out the Xbox 360 version of the headset as well, the X320. It’s only a wired gaming headset, no wireless version for 2012. It also features noise canceling for the headset and mic. The sound quality is definitely awesome and these headsets are both worth the value.
