We here at ThinkComputers are very avid gamers. So each Friday we will be covering a game that should help you get through the weekend. The games will range from new games to classics that we still love to play. They also are not limited to just PC games either. If you have a game you think we should cover check out the Gaming Friday thread in the forums.
This week we will be covering World of Tanks which is a new free to play game. I myself have been playing the game since its beta testing. Last week the game went live. World of Tanks is a morph/fps. I myself travel a good bit for LAN parties, with them ether being at a friend’s house or a larger LAN event like Pittco events right here in Pittsburgh. Traveling and carrying around a big case can sometimes be a pain. Then again there are not very many mATX cases that will suit the needs of gamers and fit their larger graphics cards and heatsinks. But Thermaltake was nice enough to send us over their Armor A30 case for us to take a look at. Let’s see if this case will suit my needs and the need of other gamers out there.
The iPad has been out for quite a while and now with the release of the iPad 2 we are going to see even more cases and other accessories come out. Speck is one of the few companies that makes high quality iPad related products and accessories. We have reviewed their iPhone products and now we are pleased to review some of their iPad products. Today we will be taking a look at their Fitted iPad case, which is one of their most popular models, let’s take a look…
There are so many coolers out there, but they are all different types. They range from tower coolers to low profile to water cooling. Over the past few years we have seen a lot of different coolers and designs, but the ones that have been used most frequently are the AIO (all-in-one) water coolers, where everything is included into a closed loop while giving you the benefits of water cooling along with being affordable and easy to setup. Today we will be taking a look at the Antec Kuhler H2O 62O, which is a closed loop water cooling system which is produced by Asetek which is also the maker of the Corsair AIO water cooling systems. Let’s take a look…
Today you see more and more home media servers and HTPC’s being sold on the market, along with the parts to build your own. I use a home media server for my PS3 and my other computers so that I can transfer and watch movies all over my house. This also gives me the ability to stream music to all of the PC’s and other wireless Devices. With all of our home electronics becoming more and more connected it’s convenient to have a media server. It allows me to control the music and movies in any of the rooms with PC’s on them with either my Android phone or my iPad. The possibilities are endless. In this review we will be taking a look at the Zotac IONITX-P-E which is an Mini-ITX motherboard with the processor embedded in to the motherboard. Mini-ITX is a very small form factor about half the size of a mATX setup.
A couple of weeks ago we took a look at the ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3 mATX motherboard. Well today we will be taking a look at its big brother the M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. This motherboard features the same AMD 880G northbridge and SB850 southbridge as its smaller counterpart. AMD’s 880G chipset is sort of the little sister of the 890GX chipset, but is set to be more affordable, while still offering the same performance. This chipset also offers native SATA 6GB/s and USB 3.0 support. Let’s take a look at the M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 and see how well it performs.
It seems like there are a ton of notebook coolers out there, but you never know which one is going to work for you and which ones are just crap. Our friends at DeepCool make quite a few different notebooks coolers, there are over 20 on their website. They sent us over their N8 notebook cooler which is made of aluminum and has dual 140mm fans. Let’s check it out and see if it is the perfect cooler for your laptop.
When it comes to building a PC there are many choices when it comes to your components. One of the biggest decisions is what motherboard to get. Many people always have their mind set on a traditional ATX motherboard, but if you want to build a smaller PC that is easy to take with you a mATX board might suit you better. Many mATX boards offer the same features as ATX boards and cost much less. Today we will be like a look at the M4A88TD-M/USB3 from ASUS. It features support for AMD 6-core processors, has built-in Radeon HD 4250 graphics, SATA 6GB/s ports and USB 3.0 support. Let’s take a look…
Corsair is a company that we all know for memory and rightfully so, their Dominator Series of memory has been the flagship for their DDR3 line for some time now. Today we will be looking at a new enthusiast line of memory called Vengeance. The Vengeance line is aggressively priced and with a lower voltage rating of 1.5V instead of the normal 1.65V you should be able to these modules to the limit. Today we will be taking a look at the 8GB 1600MHz dual channel DDR3 kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9) and putting it through it’s paces. Read on to see how well them perform!
