The first thing that I really noticed about the AF-78’s were the actual ear pieces were larger than many in-ear headphones that I’ve seen before.

Here is an exploded view of the ear piece, showing you all of what is inside. The AF-78’s feature a hybrid driver which is a dynamic driver with balanced armature driver and delivers incredible separation in the high end with a lush, well-defined response in the mid and low frequencies.

One thing I really like about the design of the ear pieces is that they have a piece of rubber over the cable connections. The will alleviate strain on the cables making them less likely to rip or tear.

The cable length on the AF-78’s is 1.2 meter or just about 3.9-feet. This is more than long enough to have your device in your pocket and the AF-78’s in your ears. The cable itself is braided and has a CORDURA fabric outer sheath for outstanding durability. Having a durable cable is important as that is typically the first thing that breaks on a set of in-ear headphones. About a quarter of the way down from the ear pieces the cables come together into a single cable. Now there is a version of the AF-78’s that has a microphone here, but this is not that version.

At the end of the cable you have a 3.5mm audio connection. Because it is longer it makes it easier to fit on devices that have cases on them.
